The Sharjah Classic Cars Club, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, organized a visit this morning to the Four-Wheel Drive History Museum, with the participation of 30 enthusiasts and owners of classic cars. The starting point was from the Club’s headquarters, where an accompanying convoy was organized en route to the museum located in the Al Madam area of Sharjah.
The visiting delegation was received by Sheikh Hamdan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, who accompanied them on a tour through the museum’s halls and sections. The museum houses more than 350 vehicles from various countries around the world, all owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.
The delegation had the opportunity to closely explore the history and early beginnings of four-wheel-drive vehicles, as well as the stages of development this type of vehicle has undergone. The museum is considered the first specialized museum dedicated to four-wheel-drive vehicles in the region.
In this context, and in appreciation of his contributions, the Sharjah Classic Cars Club granted honorary membership to Sheikh Hamdan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, who is regarded as one of the prominent figures interested in preserving classic car collectibles and documenting their history.
His Excellency Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud affirmed that the Sharjah Classic Cars Club operates in line with the vision and aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and under the close follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of becoming one of the leading institutions in the field of classic car motorsports at the regional level.
He praised the Board of Directors’ interest in building partnerships and inviting club members and classic car enthusiasts to organize such visits, which are considered social and cultural engagements that highlight the quality and value of classic cars—an area that receives significant interest from club members.
The museum features a remarkable collection of some of the most beautiful and rare classic four-wheel-drive vehicles manufactured in the past century.
